Risto Pietilainen, Harri Rovanpera's co-driver, is hoping to return to the navigator's seat in time for the World Rally Championship's season finale, Rally Great Britain in mid-November. Pietilainen suffered an aneurysm to his brain before Rally Finland - a condition whereby a blood vessel swells up. This requires treatment and rest, but Pietilainen should be feeling no ill effects by the time he returns to co-driving duties. "The news from Hospital Peugeot is good," said Peugeot team boss Corrado Provera. "Risto is making an excellent recovery and we are hoping that he will be well enough to come back and co-drive for Harri on the Rally Great Britain. "Of course, this isn't 100% guaranteed, but the doctors are very impressed with his progress." Rovanpera's former navigator, Voitto Silander, has been substituting for Pietilainen while he recovers. |
