5 stages in 2 days (Friday: Trawscoed 1, Rheola)
(Saturday: Resolfen, Halfway 1, 2) without even a penny spent !!! What do you
think? Some friends that paid were waiting in the queues and went in places
with too many people so they couldn't watch properly. We went in quiet places,
where we found people that wanted to really watch it. We did not find queues,
nothing at all. For us it was a memorable rally without spending 20 quid a stage
!!!
I hope it was the same for those who paid. The RAC rally is one of my favourites
... but it is the worst organised due to the tickets. I've been to San Remo,
Monte Carlo, Sweden, Acropolis and they don't ask for money. It is a shame for
such a nice and atmospheric rally. Anyway, we've been to a nice place in Halfway
(only KTM's and Yamaha XT, XR etc. and our Fiesta were there). This place was
where Delecour lost it. Another incident was in Trawscoed. As we were going
without a ticket of course, a family (about 6 people) stopped us and asked for
£5 in order to let us pass from "their" field !!! What a shame
... We are foreigners and still love your rally ... please don't make us hate
it. Show some hospitality. The hospitality that a great Welsh man showed us
in Halfway and opened for us his field to let us pass - Cheers !
OK that's all from my experience. Mike please show this on the internet. People
have to know the bad and good things about the rally. I hope next year the tickets
do not cost over £100. Your information was top ... again. Congratulations.
