Mike,

We ordered our tickets (1 Adult Day Pass 2 Sunday & 1 Child Day Pass 2 Sunday) on the website three weeks before the Rally GB. According to the WayAhead website our tickets had been dispatched about a week after ordering. They were due to arrive 8/9th November. On the 11th my dad phoned up the WayAhead ticket office, 'Oh very sorry sir, your tickets will be dispatched recorded delivery this evening' we were told. Two days later no tickets! Amazingly the Official Rally GB programmes arrived but they were not going to get us into the Rally. After another phone call to the WayAhead office we were told we would have to go to the 24 hour ticket office in Cardiff. We were a bit cheesed off, we paid £4.50 postage and packing and we would have to get the tickets, it would be at least an hour out of our way to collect them.

As it turned out going to collect the tickets wasn't that bad. We pulled into Cardiff at about 6.00am, collected our tickets no problems and headed out towards Rheola 2. We arrived at Rheola at 8.00am had some breakfast and headed out towards the Walters Arena. Being there 3 hours before the 1st car was due was certainly an advantage. We had one of the best views in the arena which was made even better by a glorious sunny day! We had visions before coming of fog, wind and rain! After watching the first 16 cars go through we headed towards Margam only to find we were going to car park M. Not where the real rally fan wants to be, in Margam Park itself. We wanted to be watching up in the forest where the real action was. By the time we got to the spectating areas in Margam they were already 3 deep in people so we called it a day and went on home, a little disappointed at the organisers decision to put us and many other rally fans in car park M.

However after all the hassle and only really seeing one stage we went away pretty happy with what we had seen. If only the 'hard' task of despatching tickets had been done successfully and Network Q realise that cars going through the grounds of Margam Park is not what real rally fans want to see the future of Rally GB could be secured for eternity! We will be going back next year to watch Colin McRae crowned world champion in his Citroen Xsara and the 'Ginger Winger' coming in a close second in his Peugeot 206, hopefully with more developments like The Walters Arena available.

Thanks for the maps and stage guides Mike they were a big help, continue the good work!

Regards
Mike Towill
